This Privacy Policy describes how Shop Solo ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Shop Solo mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information — your first name, last name, email address, and phone number provided at registration, and optionally your gender and date of birth if you add them to your profile. Your password is stored only as a securely salted hash — never in plain text.
- Email verification — we send a one-time code to your email address to verify your account and to support password resets.
- Shopping activity — the stores you enter, the products you scan, the contents of your cart, and your purchase and payment history (amounts in Georgian Lari, status, and timestamps).
- Payment information — payments are processed by our payment provider, Bank of Georgia (BOG). If you choose to save a card for future purchases, we store only limited card details — the card brand, the last four digits, and the expiry date — alongside a secure token provided by BOG. We never store your full card number or security code (CVV).
- Location data — if you grant permission, your device's location is sent to our servers solely to find nearby partner stores. We use it only for that lookup and do not retain it.
- Device & usage data — basic diagnostic information such as app version and server request logs used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the App.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the self-checkout experience.
- Process payments and maintain your purchase history.
- Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the App.
- Communicate with you about your account or support requests.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the service:
- Bank of Georgia (BOG) — to process your payments and, if you opt in, to save a card token.
- Email delivery provider — to send verification codes and account-related emails.
- Partner stores — the store associated with a given purchase.
- Hosting & infrastructure providers — who store and serve the data on our behalf.
We may also disclose information where required by law.
4. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can delete your account and data at any time from within the app (Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account), or follow the steps on our Account Deletion page. For any other request, please contact us using the details below.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and comply with legal obligations.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above.
